Sponsor Speed-Networking

During this Networking session, corporate sponsors will have the chance to give mini-presentations about their company and their industry to small groups of Ross MBA students. Sponsor representative will present company information, distribute company material, and learn more about students. At the end of each session, sponsors will meet a new group of students. Following the event, sponsors will have the chance to network with current and prospective students, and to extend invitations to the Maize & Blue Interview Zone, to take place the following morning. The corporate sponsors that participate in this Networking session will have the chance to make contact with approximately 70 Students.

Maize and Blue Interview Zone:

After reviewing the official BBSA resume book, corporate sponsors who participate in the Interview Zone will have the chance to interview first year MBAs prior to the start of the on-campus recruiting season.

Networking Luncheon, Keynote Address

The networking luncheon is the marquee event during the conference weekend. The sponsoring company will host the luncheon and introduce the keynote speaker. John Deere, Platinum Sponsor, will host the Networking Luncheon and the keynote address will be given by Warren Brown, the owner of CakeLove and Love Café and host of Sugar Rush on the Food Network.

Closing Banquet

The weekend of networking and professional development will culminate with the Closing Banquet, a celebration of 34 years of BBSA conferences held at the Ross School of Business

Case Competition

MBA Students from the Ross School of Business and several other leading business schools have been invited to compete in our annual competition. The purpose of this competition is to provide students with a platform to demonstrate their communication and analytical skills as they address a complex set of issues facing a client. The selected case will focus on various strategic, financial, and marketing issues facing a particular organization. Winners will be announced at the Leadership Breakfast on Saturday. This event is made possible by the support of American Airlines and Deloitte Consulting.

Conference Welcome reception

BBSA members will host the opening networking reception to welcome conference attendees to the 34th Annual Conference. Reconnect with old friends and connect with new ones at the University of Michigan’s Museum of Art. The Museum, which boasts over 18,000 pieces of art, includes African, American, Asian and European collections acquired over 150 years.

Alumni Town Hall

The Alumni Town Hall will provide alumni the opportunity to reconnect with one another and understand the successes and challenges facing the Ross School of Business. This is a results-based meeting, allowing alumni to get engaged in action plans in support of the Black Business Alumni Association (BBAA) and the Business School. Come to this session to provide feedback, get involved, and to learn directly from alumni who have traveled the path!

Dean’s Cocktail Reception

Dean Robert Dolan will greet all conference attendees and recognize alumni and corporate representatives for their involvement in the 34th Annual Conference.

Gala Banquet

The Gala Banquet is the perfect culmination of Saturday’s conference events. The evening will include an exceptional meal, conference attendees, and a special keynote address by Ross alum, Ralph E. Johnson, Director of Operations and Administration for McKinsey’s Social Sector Office. This event is made possible by the generous support of John Deere.
