2. Marketing - The Evolution of Marketing: Using Non-Traditional Approaches
As the media becomes more fragmented marketers must find new ways to reach their consumers. What role will the shift in demographics and the aging US population play in marketing? How has the role of a marketer changed over the last decade? What non-traditional marketing ways are most effective? How do marketers measure the success of non-traditional marketing?

3. Emerging Markets - Investing Beyond your Borders
Breaking the barriers to entry in emerging markets. How to find investment opportunities in emerging markets? What are the opportunities in that occur when investing in emerging markets? How does one break into the field of emerging market investment?

4. Urban Development - Wealth Building through Social Entrepreneurship
Social entrepreneurs can assist in rebuilding New Orleans. What role do black businesses play in the New Orleans rebuilding process? Money vs. ?Subsidized Goods? - which is better? which leads to a sustainable future? How to consider the less advantage in the ?new? New Orleans?

5. Technology - Beam me up Techie: Is Technology bringing our Worlds Closer or Creating a Stronger Divide?
In today's competitive environment, can the US sustain business leadership through the use of technology? What are the latest technological innovations used in business? Domestically, what are our challenges? What are the social and professional implications of advancing technology in the US? As a result of globalization, human interaction is being replaced by technology. How does this impact our decision making ability? How does one motivate a global workforce without leveraging personal interaction? Stimulate high morale?

6. Strategy - Business Turnaround: The Strategic Action Plan
Business challenges are often disguised opportunities. How do you turn around a business, brand, or department that is tanking? What are the signs of recovery? How do you mitigate the risks involved in your plan? What are the rewards of a job well done?

2005 Conference Panels Workshops

1. Minority and Urban Investing
The economic fundamentals of minority and urban markets are stronger than ever. Nevertheless, ethnic minority and urban markets have long been underserved by traditional sources of private capital. As a result, these markets are struggling to grow to their full potential. This creates unique opportunities for capital appreciation in these markets. During this workshop we will engage in a panel discussion on how to develop market-based solutions that build community capital and promote urban development.

2. Diversity in the 21st Century
This facilitated learning session provides conceptual clarity. We will define Diversity and diversity maturity. The business rationale for strategically managing diversity is explored. We look at how leveraging diversity drives optimum performance and delivers business results. Participants will understand fundamental concepts of strategic diversity management and how to leverage it to gain a competitive advantage.

Upon completion of the session participants will:

      -Gain conceptual clarity on diversity and diversity management.
      -Understand the benefits and challenges of managing diversity.
      -Understand the business rationale for leveraging diversity.

3. Leadership for the 21st Century: Developing Hybrid Leaders to Optimize 21st Century Workforce
Optimizing the 21st century work force requires a new leadership style capable of blending the best of both masculine and feminine management and behavioral traits. This step-by-step process will combine both approaches to create a new leadership style that has the greatest impact on your organization??and the bottom line! Participants will learn how the work force is responding in an extremely positive manner to a composite leadership style that values differences, believes in true empowerment, and honors non-traditional needs.

4. Professional Development through Board Participation
Many leaders are seeking ways to give back to the community by lending their skills and talents. Helping a nonprofit by serving on its board of directors allows you to serve your community and also meet people who share your interests and concerns on different issues. Nevertheless, serving on a nonprofit board develops competencies that can be used "back on the job" to forward one's professional development in a business setting. During the panel discussion, participants will explore the mutual benefits of joining a nonprofit board.
