Ramsey Jay, Jr. is an Associate Analyst at Ares Management, an investment management firm specializing in managing assets in both the private equity and leveraged finance markets. Prior to joining Ares Management, Ramsey had a career as an investment professional in Morgan Stanley’s Private Wealth Management Division where he advised high net worth families and foundations.
In 2007, Ramsey was selected as one of EBONY Magazine’s "Top 30 Young Leaders Under 30," is a featured financial expert on the Rolonda Watts Show, and has provided financial advice to mid-career professionals in a number of United States government agencies.
Ramsey is a Professional Class Member of NextGen Network Inc., (an affiliate of The Executive Leadership Council™) and a 2007 International Career Advancement Program (ICAP) Fellow at the Aspen Institute.
Ramsey is actively involved in community service and has collaborated with music icon Chaka Khan and Chris Gardner (The Pursuit Of Happyness) to create and deliver financial literacy workshops for students in conjunction with the Chaka Khan Foundation.
Ramsey serves on the Board of the New West Symphony, the Steering Committee for the Cedar Sinai Sports Spectacular, and is a Director of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Los Angeles. Additionally, Ramsey is the Founder & CEO of Elite Capital Development, an organization that develops customized programs for athletes to ensure success after their high-profile sports career concludes.
Ramsey earned his Masters in Business Administration from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in finance, from the Craig School of Business at California State University, Fresno.
